Police Implement Traffic Engineering To Anticipate Traffic Jams On The Puncak-Cipanas Line

BOGOR - The Cianjur Resort Police, West Java, implemented a number of traffic flow engineering, including a one-way system, to anticipate total traffic jams during the long weekend holiday on the Puncak-Cipanas route.

Head of the Cianjur Police Traffic Unit, Adjunct Commissioner of Police Hardian Andrianto in Cianjur, Sunday, said that on Sunday morning the traffic flow along the Puncak to Cipanas route was still running smoothly, although at a number of points prone to traffic jams, there were queues of vehicles with stalled speeds.

"The vehicle rate stalled at the Hanjawar T-junction, Cibodas Botanical Gardens, and Cipanas Market, but it did not extend. Dozens of officers who were alerted tried to regulate traffic so that it would run normally," he said.

Although the volume of vehicles is not too high, the Cianjur Police Traffic Unit continues to prepare a number of flow engineering and implement a one-way system on Sunday evening to anticipate a surge in vehicle volume, especially after tourist attractions along the Puncak-Cipanas route are closed.

The one-way system was implemented from the direction of Bogor to Cianjur, starting from the exit of the Ciawi Toll Road to the Puncak Pass area, in order to anticipate traffic jams in the Bogor Police jurisdiction as the volume of vehicles increases towards the Puncak area.

"We are alerting all members of the Cianjur Police Traffic, to regulate the smooth flow of traffic when there is a spike, even a traffic jam-resolved team is also prepared on the Puncak-Cipanas route," he said.

According to ANTARA's observation until Sunday evening, the volume of vehicles passing on the Puncak-Cipanas route was busy only at vulnerable points, such as the T-junction of the Cibodas Botanical Gardens and Cipanas Market, the speed of vehicles had stalled but kept moving because many vehicles were in and out.

Dozens of officers were seen on alert at a number of vulnerable points to regulate traffic flow so that there would be no long queues. Current engineering by directing motorists to a number of alternative routes is carried out so that there is no total traffic jam.
