Metro Police Tighten Security For Vesak Holidays, Patrols Held At Strategic Points

JAKARTA - In order to maintain security stability during the long holiday of the 2025 Vesak Day, the Metro Resort Police, Lampung, has optimized security measures in all jurisdictions. The main focus is to ensure that people can go through their vacation period safely and comfortably.

"This security measure is part of our efforts to create a conducive atmosphere in the midst of increasing community activities during the long holiday," said Metro Police Chief, AKBP Hangga Utama Darmawan, in Bandarlampung, Sunday.

According to him, security is carried out through intensive patrols that include vital areas, as well as direct counseling to the public regarding the importance of maintaining order and environmental security.

"We direct routine patrol activities to crowded points such as shopping centers, places of worship, access routes to and from the city, to residential areas," explained Hangga.

In addition, tourist destinations that are expected to be crowded with visitors during the Vesak holiday are also a special concern for the police.

He also reminded residents to be more vigilant, especially when leaving the house empty. Not to forget, road users are asked to continue to comply with traffic regulations in order to avoid accidents.

"We want the public to enjoy this long holiday in an orderly and safe manner. If you find suspicious activity, immediately report it to the authorities. Metro City is our shared responsibility," he said.

This preventive measure is expected to minimize the potential for security disturbances and reduce the level of crime during the holiday period in the jurisdiction of the Metro Police.
