The "Skydiving" Event Attracted Foreign Tourist Visits To Karimunjawa

JEPARA - Ajang Karimunjawa International Skydiving and Adventure (KISA) which was held at Dewadaru Karimunjawa Airport, Jepara Regency, Central Java, on 7-11 May 2025 is expected to attract foreign tourist visits.

"The existence of the KISA event is also a trigger to revive the pioneering flight route to Karimunjawa which will open in July 2025," said Head of Dewadaru Karimunjawa Airport Captain Muhamad Kurniawan as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, May 11.

He hopes that this will be the starting point so that at Dewadaru Airport many airlines enter.

Then many passengers take advantage of the airport so that in the future access to Karimunjawa will be easier.

Kurniawan explained that so far access to Karimunjawa only uses sea lanes, both from Kartini Port, Jepara and Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang.

This KISA activity is also promoting the plan to reopen flights at Dewadaru Airport.

"Hopefully with this activity, many tourists will come here through the airport that has been built so that the new terminal can be used by the community," he said.

So far, he continued, Susi Air has confirmed that it will open flight routes to Karimunjawa.

Licensing has been taken care of for Yogyakarta-Karimunjawa, Karimunjawa-Semarang, Semarang-Karimunjawa, and Karimunjawa-Yogyakarta flight routes.

"The flight will start on July 4, 2025. The schedule will be one week three times, namely Friday, Sunday and Monday," he said.

Regarding the skydiving event in Karimunjawa, Kurniawan stated, KISA has rented Dewadaru Airport for the next year.

Secara sarana pendukung sudah cukup untuk menggelar skydiving. Terbukti dengan suksesnya penyelenggaraan KISAtamaie Woogie Jump yang digelar 7-11 Mei 2025.

"In terms of security, an ambulance, medical personnel from the local health center and fire department have also been prepared. In the event of an incident that we do not expect can be handled immediately. We have also collaborated with hospitals in Semarang, if later patients have to be evacuated, they can be sent directly to Semarang by plane," he said.

He hopes that in the future many local and foreign tourists will come to Karimunjawa for sky diving. KISA as the facilitator has prepared a skydiving activity scheme.

It is hoped that in the future there will be tour packages that will include skydiving in one of the agendas in addition to diving and snorkeling which already exist in Karimunjawa.

Chairman of KISA Capt Muhammad Hariri has declared that the KISAtamaie Woogie Jump event is only the opening and introduction of Karimunjawa potential for sky diving.

Throughout this year there will be routine skydiving activities in Karimunjawa. Plus efforts to establish a skydiving training center for beginners and professionals.

"We chose Karimunjawa because this place is already supporting, namely the airport facilities. We also sell the theme of island view and beach view, as well as we use it as a theme to expose Karimunjawa abroad," he said.

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi said Central Java tourism must go international so that the readiness of supporting infrastructure continues to be boosted. One of them is pioneering flights to Dewadaru Karimunjawa Airport.

Later there will be direct flights through international airports and pioneering airports. Susi Air will also open flight routes from Bali Yogyakarta Karimunjawa, and Karimunjawa Semarang, and Karimunjawa Yogyakarta Bali.
