The National Police held a simultaneous regional police operation since May 1, 2025 in order to eradicate thuggery.

This operation was carried out based on the Telegram Letter of the National Police Chief with Number STR/1081/IV/OPS.1.3./2025 which ordered all ranks of the Regional Police and Resort Police to enforce the law supported by intelligence, preemptive, and preventive measures.

During the operation, the Head of the Public Relations Division, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, said that the National Police had completed 3,326 cases of thuggery.
