Riau Islands Police Arrest Fugitive Case Of Investment Embezzlement Of IDR 2 Billion

The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Riau Islands Police arrested DA, a fugitive who was included in the Interpol Red Notice (IRAN) for a case of alleged embezzlement and investment fraud that cost victims Rp2 billion.

"DA was arrested after being deported from Singapore via Soekarno-Hatta Airport on May 4, 2025," said the Director of Criminal Investigation at the Riau Islands Police, Kombes Ade Mulyana, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 8.

The arrest of the DA fugitive involved a joint team from the NBC Set of Interpol Indonesia, the Ditreskrimum of the Riau Islands Police, and the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Satreskrim.

Meanwhile, the Head of Sub-Directorate III of the Riau Islands Police, AKBP Mikael Hutabalomal, and DA, are fugitives from the Riau Islands Police who have been on the red notice for Interpol since April 2025.

DA and her husband DS have been named suspects in the embezzlement case in the position and/or fraudulent online transportation investment BDrive reported by the victim named Mohammad Fariz.

In this case, the two suspects promised the victim their investment capital would return with a profit of 35 percent per month from their online transportation business.

"However, after the victim transferred funds, the promised profit was never given and the funds were actually used for the personal interests of the suspects," he said.

The arrest of suspect DS was the result of cross-border coordination between NCB Jakarta and NCB Singapore. This information was obtained when DS was detected at Changi International Airport, Singapore.

NCB Jakarta immediately asked NCB Singapore to refuse entry and return to Indonesia.

"For the suspect, DS is currently still in Singapore in the process of repatriation," he said.

DA and DS were charged with Article 374 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 372 and/or Article 378 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of five years.

Currently, the suspect DA has been detained at the Riau Islands Regional Police's State Detention Center (Rutan) for further processing.
