Pramono Wants To Pursue Tax Arrears, Discourse On PKB Bleaching When DKI's Anniversary Potentially Canceled

Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) Lusiana Herawati said the discourse on bleaching or removing motor vehicle tax fines (PKB) which is planned to be implemented during the commemoration of Jakarta's anniversary in June is being reviewed.

Thus, there is a possibility that PKB bleaching will not apply. Bearing in mind, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung did not want to issue a tax bleaching policy and pursue taxpayers to pay off their arrears.

"(Pramono) asked for (tax occupancy) to be reviewed," Lusiana said in a short message, Wednesday, April 29.

Along with that, the DKI Provincial Government also received input from the Secretariat of Samsat Trustees consisting of the Indonesian National Police, Jasa Raharja, and the Ministry of Home Affairs to review the discourse on tax bleaching.

"There is input from the Samsat coaching team to review again," he said.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung previously emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government would not provide bleaching for motor vehicle taxes. He stated that his party will focus on pursuing tax arrears who have enjoyed facilities provided by the state without fulfilling their obligations.

"Have you received the facility, have you received the convenience, do you not want to pay taxes?" said Pramono while attending the DKI Jakarta PWNU Halal Bihalal event, Sunday, April 27.

According to Pramono, the government's task is to provide assistance to people who really need it, such as bleaching diplomas for the less fortunate, not for those who own motorized vehicles but do not pay taxes.

He explained that most of the tax arrears of motorized vehicles are owners of more than one vehicle, such as the second or third car, which should not be eligible for tax breaks.

Pramono added that his party would firmly pursue motor vehicle tax evaders. Apart from being unable to fulfill their obligations, they have also enjoyed various facilities provided by the government.

"For those who own a car but don't want to pay taxes, I won't give them bleaching. I will continue to chase them," he said.
