Asked Pramono To Manage Illegal Parking, DKI Satpol PP Waits For Direction: We Don't Know The Battlefield

JAKARTA - Head of DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Satriadi Gunawan responded to the statement by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, who asked the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP to participate in controlling illegal parking in Jakarta.

Satriadi admitted that the DKI Provincial Government will form a joint team commanded by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency to resolve the problem of illegal parking.

"Later we will have a leadership meeting with the Governor to create an integrated team between Satpol PP, Dishub, TNI, and Polri," said Satriadi at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, April 23.

Currently, the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP is still waiting for directions from Pramono and coordinating with related regional work units to develop technical and conceptual implementation of an integrated team in the field.

"The Department of Transportation knows better. What is the combat field, we don't know this yet. We just want to convey it," he said.

Previously, the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, asked the Pramong Praja Police Unit (Satpol PP) to deal with illegal parking problems in Jakarta, including in the Tanah Abang area. They must cooperate with the police.

"For illegal parking like that, that's the task of the Satpol PP. Instead of moving people who want to demonstrate, use a camp, even yesterday in front of my office, the camp for a month is okay," Pramono told reporters at Jakarta City Hall, Saturday, April 19, 2025.

Pramono said that illegal parking matters are one of the focuses that must be resolved by his government. You see, many want to be managers.

In fact, parking problems are a source of income for Jakarta if managed properly.

"I also just found out that parking in Jakarta is an extraordinary source of income for the manager of whoever the manager is," he said.
