JAKARTA - The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KemenP2MI) officially cooperates with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to support President Prabowo Subianto's commitment to integrated single data in policy making.
The cooperation was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the Secretary General of the Ministry of P2MI Inspector General Dwiyono and the Acting Main Secretary of BPS Moh Edy Mahmud witnessed by the Minister of P2MI Abdul Kadir Karding and the Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti.
"Many sources are not necessarily the same, so with single data which is an instruction from the President's commitment, we are in policy making better, on target," said Minister Karding at the BPS Office, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, April 22.
With this collaboration, Minister Karding wants data on Indonesian migrant workers to be recorded accurately. This is because there are several Indonesian migrant workers who are not registered, such as internship programs abroad, working using the Working Holiday Visa (WHV), the company is extending contracts independently and Indonesian migrant workers are deported.
"In general, you have to report it to Atnaker. Well, after that, when this extension is a bit difficult for remote areas. For example, in Riyadh there is up to a thousand kilometers in Riyadh, so it's far away. So it's also extended a bit difficult, so sometimes there's no data," he said
Therefore, it is hoped that the integration of data between KemenP2MI and BPS can be carried out properly in order to create a single data system such as President Prabowo's commitment.
"That we need more accurate cooperation and not only in the form of ordinary cooperation. But maybe system integration and so on," said Minister Karding.

Meanwhile, the Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar, said that his party was integrating data so that data on Indonesian citizens (WNI) who went abroad to die could be recorded.
"We want in the future we will have one single data for Indonesian migrant workers. Now this will be a very good collaboration room," said Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar.
This single data can later be used as a reference so that there is no difference in data between one ministry and another.
"This single data turns out to be what the Republic of Indonesia has been waiting for. So it can still be one reference and there is no difference between one ministry and another," said Amalia.
