JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police PPA Unit named three young women as suspects in a bullying case in the Tambora area which went viral on social media a few days ago.

Wakasat Reskrim Polres Metro Jakarta Barat, AKP Dimitri Mahendra menjelaskan, penetapan status tersangka kepada tersangka pelaku berdasarkan hasil penyidikan, pemeriksaan terhadap korban, saksi-saksi, hasil visum et revertum serta gelar perkara yang telah dilakukan.

"The first step we take is to prioritize the safety of victims. We have provided psychological assistance and examination, professional psychologist from P3A (Employee empowerment and Child Protection)," said AKP Dimitri when confirmed, Monday, April 21, 2025.

In addition, the West Jakarta Metro Police have also coordinated with the DKI Jakarta Social Service to secure the three perpetrators because they are children.

The three child perpetrators are currently entrusted to Handayani's Safe House considering the age of those who are minors.

"The handling process is in accordance with Law No. 11 of 2012 concerning the juvenile criminal justice system," he said.

Furthermore, AKP Dimitri also appealed to the public, especially parents, to increase supervision and education of their children to prevent similar incidents.

"We hope this case becomes a common concern, that it is important for families and the environment to actively shape the child's character so as not to fall into deviant behavior," he said.

The bullying case carried out by three minors against a friend of his age occurred in the Tambora area, West Jakarta on Friday, April 11. The bullying was recorded in an amateur video by one of the perpetrators with a duration of 1.52 seconds and went viral on social media.
