JAKARTA - Bank Jakarta has distributed one unit of communal shower, wash, and toilet (MCK) in Tomang Village, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. This assistance is given to support the Total Community-Based Sanitation (STBM) program that is being encouraged by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

The inauguration of the program coincided with the declaration of STBM in Tomang Village, which was attended by the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno, the Mayor of West Jakarta Iin Mutmainnah, and a number of collaborators, including Bank Jakarta.

Rano said the DKI Provincial Government continues to encourage the expansion of the coverage of STBM as one of the indicators of a healthy city towards Jakarta as a global city.

He said that the addition of Tomang Village increased the number of STBM Commitment villages in Jakarta to 194 villages or 72.65 percent.

"Hopefully all collaborators will always be given ease. As Jakarta enters its fifth century, we must continue to synergize and collaborate to provide the best service to the community," said Rano, Monday, June 29.

Rano also expressed his appreciation to Bank Jakarta and all parties involved in supporting the improvement of sanitation quality in Jakarta.

The STBM declaration is one of the important steps to realize Jakarta as a healthy global city. One of the requirements for a neighborhood with STBM status is that at least 500 heads of households have utilized sanitation facilities that meet standards through a decent bathing, washing, kakus (MCK) program.

Bank Jakarta President Director Agus H. Widodo said the construction of communal MCK is a form of the company's support for improving the quality of public health, especially in densely populated areas.

"This communal MCK CSR program is Bank Jakarta's step to improve the lives and environment of Jakarta that is beneficial," said Agus.

According to Agus, collaboration between the government, business world, and society is an important factor in supporting the development of Jakarta.

"Through this CSR program, Bank Jakarta believes that collaboration between the government, the business sector, and the community is an important foundation in building a modern, healthy, and competitive Jakarta," he said.

He added that support for community sanitation programs is part of Bank Jakarta's commitment to provide sustainable social impact for Jakarta residents.
