Commission III Asked To Immediately Hold A Polemic RDP At The Central Kalimantan Police

JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Etos Indonesia Institute, Iskandarsyah, appreciates the quick steps taken by Commission III of the DPR RI in responding to legal issues that occurred at the Central Kalimantan Police. Iskandar said this was in response to a working visit of a number of members of Commission III of the DPRI RI to the Central Kalimantan Police, including responding to the legal case that befell Brigpol Fathurahman.

"The investigation is to reveal that the case of dismissing Brigpol Fathurahman, who is suspected of being framed with a drug case, is clearly revealed, the Etos Indonesia Institute encourages the Hearing Meeting or RDP to be held immediately. This is to hear from both parties, what happened so that Brigpol Fathurahman was dishonorably dismissed," said Iskandar in a written statement, Sunday, April 20.

In addition, his party also encouraged the Divpropam Polri, and a number of members of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police and also the Palangkaraya District Attorney and Central Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office who were involved in handling the Brigpol Fathurahman case to be presented at the RDP with Commission III of the DPR RI.

"We consider it necessary to summon a number of parties involved in handling the Brigpol Fathurahman case. There should be no public assumption that officials actually protect the dealers. Because if you look at the series of legal events, there are allegations of violations in the case of the handling," said the former 98 activist.

Meanwhile, analyst at the Center for Public Policy Studies Indonesian (CPPSI) Yusuf Blegur encouraged the public to be involved in the supervision of law enforcement in the police. This is because many things need to be improved in the process of handling a number of cases in the Bhayangkara Corps, including the Central Kalimantan Police.

"It's natural that if now it appears that the police are under the ministry of the country. And I am of the view that the discourse is not without reason, the public has started to be critical of the police. If the police do not improve, the level of public trust in the police institution will get worse," said the former GMNI Presidium.

Yusuf said the police should be at the forefront of maintaining public security and order. However, more and more cases tarnish this institution so that public trust continues to decline.

However, there are still many police officers who are sincere and on the side of the people, but the scandal after a scandal that has surfaced to the public has made the public ask how many are truly loyal to their duties.
