Today's Jakarta Weather: Light Rain And Cloudy Rain In Some Areas

JAKARTA The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that weather conditions in the DKI Jakarta area on Sunday, April 20, 2025, will be dominated by cloudy and thick cloudy weather, accompanied by the potential for light rain in several areas.

In daily weather reports released by BMKG, the air temperature in Jakarta is estimated to be in the range of 24 to 30 degrees Celsius. The humidity is also relatively high, ranging from 70 to 95 percent, which is one of the trigger factors for cloudy sky conditions and the potential for light rain.

In the morning, the sky in most areas of Jakarta will appear thick cloudy. The areas of West Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta are predicted to experience this condition from early morning until late afternoon.

Entering the afternoon and evening, the potential for light rain began to appear in some of these areas. Rain is local and lasts for a short duration, but still has the potential to cause inundation at certain vulnerable points, especially in areas with a less optimal drainage system. After the rain subsides, the weather is expected to return to thick clouds until the evening.

Central Jakarta also shows a similar weather pattern. In the morning to noon, this area is predicted to be thick cloudy, without the potential for rain. However, in the afternoon, light rain is expected to fall at several points, before returning to be cloudy when the evening arrives.

Unlike the mainland area of Jakarta, the Thousand Islands is expected to experience light rain earlier. According to the BMKG, light rain will start to fall in the morning in the archipelago.

The intensity of rain is relatively light, but it is recommended for residents and tourists who are active at sea to remain careful about the potential for sudden weather changes.

Entering the day to night, the weather in the Thousand Islands will gradually improve, even though the sky will still be filled with thick clouds.

BMKG urges the public to remain alert to the possibility of rapid weather changes, especially in the transition season like today. Residents who are active outside the room are advised to bring rain shielding equipment such as umbrellas or raincoats, and pay attention to the latest weather information from official sources.

For motorists, caution on the road also needs to be improved because slippery road conditions due to rain can increase the risk of accidents.

With weather that tends to be cloudy and damp, the community is also advised to maintain a healthy body condition and avoid seasonal diseases such as flu or fever.
