Police Revealed That Sekar Arum Had Donated Counterfeit Money At The Istiqlal Mosque

JAKARTA - The police revealed that the upal counterfeit money used by the colossal artist Sekar Arum Widara, had actually been donated into a charity box before Eid Al-Fitr 2025.

"So the day before Lebaran he said where to put it, into the charity box," said Head of Ranmor Satreskrim South Jakarta Metro Police Iptu Teddy Rohendi when confirmed, Wednesday, April 16.

Teddy said the amount of money donated into the charity box of the Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta was IDR 10 million. However, this is still being investigated regarding the confession of the player in the Angle Dharma series.

"Just what he said, he said, he put it in a charity box of Rp. 10 million. Istiqlal Mosque," he said.

Teddy said that Sekar admitted to getting the upal from his friend. Therefore, his party is currently hunting for the perpetrator who gave the upal to Sekar Arum.

As is known, Sekar Arum was caught using the counterfeit money while shopping at the Kemang Mall, South Jakarta.

Head of Public Relations of the South Jakarta Metri Police, Kompol Nurma Dewi, said that Sekar Arum Widara had succeeded in shopping at several shops using counterfeit money.

He explained that during the first transaction, the perpetrator managed to trick the cashier when making cash payments.

When he found out that the first transaction was successful, Sekar apparently returned to shopping at the same shop but with a different cashier.

But unfortunately, this time it was a sad day for artist Sekar Arum Widara. The cashier first checked the money brought by the perpetrator using a UV detector. As a result, the money was declared counterfeit money.

Sekar then tried to go to another shop. However, the transaction failed again until it was finally secured by mall security officers. (Muhamad Jehan)
