Government Prepares Teachers Of People's Schools, Minister Of Social Affairs: ASN Or Certified

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf alias Gus Ipul revealed that the government will soon recruit teachers for public schools. There are two options prepared, first the teacher is recruited from ASN, the two teachers who have certification.

"Well, this is being finalized. Yes, while there are still several options. From ASN, ASN assignments are like that. Or the second is from teachers who already have certificates, what is teacher professional education. Those two are still being finalized," said Saifullah at the Presidential Palace, Monday, March 24.

Gus Ipul explained that later the recruitment process for teachers for public schools will be led by the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen).

Meanwhile, the people's school curriculum is prepared by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education and Culture

Gus Ipul ensured that there was no gap regarding the governance of education between people's schools and other schools. all parties will be involved.

"Yes, we will share our duties later because here it is not only the Ministry of Social Affairs. So Dikti too, the Ministry of Diksasmen is participating, Dikti is going with it. So this is also a government school, the government implementing it, so we beat it," he said.

Gus Ipul added that currently there are 53 public schools ready to operate. In addition, there are 82 other public schools that are undergoing assessments from building to land by the Ministry of Public Works (PU).

"But now what is in the initial stage of the assessment process is that there are around 82 buildings or land that are ready to be utilized through a little renovation or new development in 2025. Namely, there are now 82 which are currently starting the assessment process by the Public Works," he concluded.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto ensured the construction of 200 public schools throughout Indonesia by 2025 to break the chain of poverty. People's schools will be intended for children from underprivileged families.

People's schools have a boarding school concept for elementary, junior high and high school, so all students will stay in dormitories.

"We have also decided to build this year. We hope that 200 boarding schools will begin soon," said Prabowo.

The President emphasized that this program aims to make children from poor families have the opportunity to get a decent education and not get caught in a cycle of poverty.

In the initial stage plan, 53 schools will soon be inaugurated within the next three months. President Prabowo revealed that the Ministry of Social Affairs already has usable buildings and land, so that development can be accelerated by only carrying out renovations.

Meanwhile, the construction of 147 other schools will follow. The government targets around 1,000 students per public school.
