The Minister Of Home Affairs Asks Local Governments To Optimize The APBD, Strengthen People's Purchasing Power Ahead Of Eid 2025

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian appealed to local governments (Pemda) to strengthen people's purchasing power ahead of the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri.

Strengthening efforts can be made by distributing social assistance (bansos), both cash and non-cash to people in need.

"Please also disburse the areas ahead of Lebaran, social assistance, both cash and non-cash, goods, for example to the public so that people's purchasing power increases," Tito said in his statement, Monday, March 24, quoted by Antara.

In order to strengthen people's purchasing power, the Minister of Home Affairs also asked regional heads throughout Indonesia to hold internal meetings to optimize the revenue target of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

Thus, later the local government can provide positive stimulus for the regional economy and strengthen people's purchasing power.

"So that the income target can really be optimal and please don't save the budget, spend it so that money is circulating in the community, so that it can also trigger the private sector and strengthen people's purchasing power," he said.

In addition, he also ensures that the availability of foodstuffs ahead of Eid is relatively under control. Moreover, it is currently approaching the main harvest of rice and corn. This will certainly make the availability of sufficient food.

"The point is that ahead of Lebaran, our food readiness is sufficient," added Tito.

On that occasion, he also highlighted a number of commodities that need to be considered by various related parties. This is like an increase in cooking oil prices in several regions in Indonesia.

In addition, Tito also highlighted the issue of garlic. He hopes that the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) can immediately address the issue. He also encouraged the planting movement to be encouraged to support the production of cayenne pepper.
