Prabowo: Danantara Implements International Standard Management

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto said the Indonesian Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) would implement international standard management by involving a number of international figures as advisors to the institution.

In his directive to ministers, deputy ministers, and heads of institutions at the Plenary Cabinet Session at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Friday, President Prabowo said the launch of BPI Danantara Indonesia was a major breakthrough made by the government.

"I'm sure the management of all assets under Danantara will be better because we will use international standard management. Also with some international advisors, we want to invite," Prabowo said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 21.

A number of international figures who have entered the management structure of the Danantara, namely US investor Ray Dalio and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair as Advisory Council.

According to Prabowo, the launch of Danantara Indonesia is a bold decision by consolidating all BUMN assets and funds to be managed in one institution.

Because BUMN funds and assets are the government's economic strength, Prabowo asked that fund management should be carried out as well as possible and as transparently as possible with a high level of accountability.

The Head of State emphasized to the leadership of the Danantara to be careful in making decisions.

"If necessary, these decisions are taken carefully and if necessary, there is no need to be too fast. This is the wealth of our children and grandchildren. It must be maintained properly," said Prabowo.

Therefore, the President asked for very layered supervision and assessment of risks so that community leaders from various circles could participate in supervising.

In addition, all policies issued by the Danantara leadership must be audited and accounted for at any time.

Danantara as Indonesia's sovereign wealthfund (SWF) which was launched on February 24, 2025, played a role in optimizing SOE assets to be invested in various long-term strategic projects.

Danantara as the state's wealth fund manages assets worth more than 900 billion US dollars, with an initial projected fund of up to 20 billion US dollars.

President Prabowo explained that the first wave of investment worth US$20 billion will be prioritized for strategic projects, including downstreaming of bauxite nickel, copper, construction of data centers, artificial intelligence, petroleum refineries of petrochemical factories, food and protein production, acculture, and renewable energy.
