JAKARTA - The Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement Company (P3MI) and the Job Training Institute (LPK) PT Elshafah Adi Wiguna Mandiri, located in the Kramat Jati area, East Jakarta, were sealed by the Minister for Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding on Friday, March 21.

According to Minister Karding, the sealing was carried out based on the findings of his team. It is suspected that the place illegally sent Indonesian migrant workers to Saudi Arabia.

"Our team has also gone to the field to cross-check and also found photos of the person concerned before placing them in Saudi Arabia," said Minister Karding, Friday, March 21.

Furthermore, Minister Karding said, P3MI should not have its own training institutions. However, the placement company has its own training institution in conjunction with the P3MI office.

"The rules state that P3MI companies cannot have their own training institutions. Therefore, this LPK will be part of what we will investigate next. So this is suspected to be two violations at once," he said.

When checking after sealing LPK and P3MI, Minister Karding found that the place was inappropriate to be called a training institution.

"It is suspected that this is a shelter, not this LPK, possibly," he said.

Therefore, Minister Karding said that his party had temporarily suspended and sealed the P3MI and LPK offices for further investigation.
