Man In Tangerang Mutilates His Own Cousin, Keeps Body Pieces In The Freezer For 2.5 Years

TANGERANG Police have arrested a man named Marcellino Raun (24) who is suspected of mutilating his cousin, Jefry Rarun (JR). Pieces of the victim's body were found in a refrigerator that was kept for 2.5 years in a house in Villa Regency II, Pasar Kemis.

Tangerang Police Chief, Kombes Baktiar Joko Mujiono, revealed that this tragic incident occurred on December 23, 2023, at around 05.00 WIB. However, the suspect was only arrested on March 13, 2025.

Chronology Of Case Disclosure

This case was revealed when North Jakarta Metro Police investigators were looking for victims at Villa Regency II related to a fraud case. However, at that location, they only found the suspect.

The suspicious officer then examined a number of evidences, including a refrigerator tied with a chain. When asked to open the refrigerator, the suspect refused. The officer finally forcibly opened the refrigerator and found pieces of the victim's body in it.

"After that, we immediately coordinated with the North Jakarta Police and secured the suspect and evidence," said Kombes Baktiar at a press conference on Friday, March 21, 2025.

Murder Background

From the results of the investigation, it was known that the suspect MR had lived with the victim's family in Jakarta since they were cousins. During his stay together, the suspect admitted that he often received harsh treatment and felt he was being used by the victim. This creates a grudge that has been stored in him for a long time.

In December 2023, the victim asked the suspect to look for a car belonging to his friend which was taken away by someone else. However, because the suspect could not find it, the victim got angry with him. This worsened the suspect's anger until an intention arose to kill the victim.

Murder Process

The murder occurred on December 23, 2023. At that time, the victim, who had just returned from Kediri and finished bathing, was stabbed by the suspect five times in the neck using a kitchen knife. After the victim fell, the suspect again stabbed the victim's left chest twice to confirm that the victim had died.

After the victim died, the suspect took his body to the bathroom and dismembered his body into eight parts using an iron saw. Pieces of the body were then put in a plastic bag and stored in the bathroom.

When the internal organs began to rot on the fifth day, the suspect threw the organs into a small river in the Pasar Kemis area. To eliminate traces, the suspect bought a refrigerator which was then stored in the victim's workshop in East Gelam Village, Pasar Kemis.

Body Piece Storage

The victim's body was then put in the refrigerator. However, in February 2025, due to problems with the bank, the suspect moved the refrigerator to another house belonging to the victim located at Villa Regency II, Pasar Kemis.

Faced Punishment

As a result of his actions, the suspect is suspected of committing premeditated murder as stipulated in Article 340 of the Criminal Code, subsidiary to Article 338 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a maximum penalty in the form of the death penalty.
