Inaugurating SEZ In Batang Jateng, President Prabowo: We Expect To Be Indonesia's Shenzhen, God Willing

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Industropolis in Batang, Central Java, today. The SEZ preparations have taken place in the era of Joko Widodo's leadership.

"I am Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, inaugurating the Special Economic Zone of Industropolis Batang, Central Java," Prabowo said at the inauguration ceremony in Batang, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Thursday, March 20.

In his remarks, President Prabowo expressed his highest appreciation to all relevant ministries and institutions who have worked hard to realize the development of the region.

The President also gave awards to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo who has laid a strong foundation for the development of the Industropolis KeK Batang.

According to him, preparations made in the era of Joko Widodo's leadership and his ministers have brought Indonesia to have an area that is expected to become a center of modern industry, such as Shenzhen in China.

"The area that we hope can later become Indonesia's shenzhen, God willing," said Prabowo.

Prabowo emphasized that the nation's development is a long and tough process, which requires hard work, strong determination, and collaboration from all parties.

The Head of State said that the results enjoyed today are the fruit of the struggle of the founding fathers of the nation and the freedom fighters who have sacrificed for the prosperity of Indonesia.

SEZ Industropolis Batang, said Prabowo, is one of the government's great efforts in building the nation through industrialization and downstreaming.

The President stressed that prosperity can only be achieved through hard work, firm leadership, and good cooperation between all parties.

The President also stated that Indonesia was building dozens of other SEZs as part of efforts to catch up with neighboring countries.

Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia should not be ashamed to learn from the success of other countries, with the main goal of eliminating poverty and building prosperity for all Indonesian people.

"We must eliminate poverty from Indonesia. That is our goal, development, industrialization, downstreaming, pioneering initiatives and upstream, all of the aim is to build a good future for all of our people," said Prabowo.

Prabowo supports all efforts, initiatives, and innovations from various parties, both private and foreign, to participate in Indonesia's development.

The President emphasized that Indonesia is open to mutually beneficial investment and cooperation, in order to create a better future for all people.

"Therefore, brothers and sisters, we must encourage initiatives like this," said the President.

Previously, Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana said that the SEZ of Industropolis Batang was a transformation of the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone (KITB) which aims to encourage increased investment in Central Java.

He said that the Government is targeting the investment value in the Industropolis Batang SEZ in the next 5 years of IDR 75.8 trillion, while the target for the number of workers is 58,145 people.
