CIANJUR - The board of the Al-Ittihad Islamic Boarding School in Cianjur, West Java, was forced to send thousands of students home early because of the government's ban on going home as an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Public Relations of Al-Ittihad Islamic Boarding School, Wandi Ruswanur, said that the total number of students at the boarding school was 3,265, who came from various regions in West Java and from outside the province, initially going to be repatriated simultaneously on May 2.

"However, the government issued the latest ban as of April 22, so that the management promoted the return of all students starting yesterday (Friday, April 23) and today Saturday. For the first group, there were 1,000 female students from outside West Java and outside the island", he said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, April 24th.

Meanwhile, those who were discharged on Saturday, April 24 evening, as many as 2,265 students came from various regions in West Java, including students from Cianjur. As a result, the queue of vehicles in the boarding school area has increased and the impact is on the national road that connects Cianjur-Bandung.

Initially, the return of thousands of students had been scheduled because since long ago the boarding school had arranged the return schedule according to their respective regions of origin. However, at this time it has to be done all at once for fear that the parents who pick you up will have problems on the road.

"Parents who pick up their children to the hut from out of town must be equipped with a COVID-19 antigen-free certificate so that their safety and health are guaranteed when picking up", continued Wandi Ruswanur.

You can see that the queue for the vehicles of parents to pick up their children at the Al-Ittihad Islamic Boarding School continues to increase, thus affecting the traffic flow on Jalan Raya Cianjur-Bandung, Karangtengah District.

Dozens of members of the Cianjur Police Traffic Unit were dispatched to regulate the flow of traffic along with the location so that they could pass comfortably. Traffic Unit Cianjur Police Iptu Yudistira said the police only had the duty to regulate heavy traffic during the process of returning students.

"For the smooth return of these thousands of students, we sent dozens of members to regulate the smooth flow of traffic. The night before, large vehicles carrying the students to their respective hometowns had already departed", he said.
