Gunungkidul Regent Refuses To Buy New Official Car Worth IDR 1.5 Billion

Gunungkidul - Gunungkidul Regent Endah Subekti Kuntariningsih refused to purchase a new official car worth IDR 1.5 billion which has been budgeted by the Gunungkidul Regency Government, Yogyakarta Special Region. He asked for the budget to be allocated for more urgent programs.

This decision was taken because he considered the official car used by the previous official was still in good condition and worthy of use.

"The official car is still suitable for use, we official cars will not take it, we will transfer it which is more important than that," said Endah in Gunungkidul, Antara, Monday, March 10.

Another reason that underlies this decision is the budget efficiency policy that is being promoted by the central government.

In the midst of budget constraints, Endah chose to allocate the funds that had been provided for the procurement of new official cars to other more urgent priority programs.

According to Endah, the budget can be allocated to organize Wonosari Square and intervene in damaged district roads.

"If in the purely budget the arrangement of the square is lacking, then we will transfer the budget for buying the official car of the regent and deputy to perfect Wonosari Square. If that is enough, then we will donate it to infrastructure, to self-management carried out by the Public Works Service or according to the results of public input on the district road which is our authority, we will donate it to it. Meanwhile, the official cars that we use are still suitable for use," he said.

Furthermore, when asked about the procurement of ASN uniforms, Endah said that she had held a closed meeting with the head of the service and TAPD to postpone it.

"We have collected the procurement of ASN uniforms worth almost Rp3.2 billion, even though we have collected the head of the service, TAPD, and regional secretary for closed meetings, that we have postponed things that are not yet important for us to do, even though it has been installed in the budget. we also ask for it to be postponed for us to use more important things than that," he said.

Regent Endah said the postponement was also in accordance with the regent's vision and mission and priority program which had been aligned with President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita development plan.

"We have to be efficient and use the budget according to the main program," he said.
