6 Fishermen Whose Ships Died Engine In The Waters Of Pamujaan Banten Successfully Evacuated Basarnas

BANTEN - Banten Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) managed to evacuate six fishermen whose ships experienced engine failures around the waters of Pamujaan Island, Serang Regency, Banten.

Head of the Banten Basarnas Office, Al Amrad, explained that the incident report was received at 04.00 WIB from the family of one of the victims.

"We immediately responded to the report by deploying a rescue team using the Tetuka SAR KN, a ship belonging to the Banten Basarnas," he said in Serang, Antara, Friday, March 7.

After searching and evacuating, he continued, at 06.40 WIB the six fishermen were found safe.

"Alhamdulillah, we managed to evacuate all the victims safely," he said.

This rescue operation was carried out taking into account weather conditions and coordination with related parties to ensure the safety of all victims and rescue teams.

He explained earlier on Thursday that the fishing boat Arika with six people on board (POB) had gone to sea since the morning. However, during the day, the ship experienced problems and engine failures around Pamujaan Island, Serang Regency, Banten.

Without adequate buoyancy and uncertain weather conditions, he said, fishermen cannot return to the mainland and need help.
