Jambi Police Examine Batanghari DPRD Members Related To Fraud Cases

JAKARTA - The Jambi Regional Police Ditreskrimum examined a member of the Batanghari Regency Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) regarding a case of alleged fraud.

Wadirkrimum Jambi Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Imam Rachman confirmed the forced pick-up of members of the council.

Imam said that currently investigators are still investigating the person concerned.

This Batanghari DPRD member is being investigated for alleged fraud cases. Currently, investigators are still investigating to find out the losses caused by the fraud case.

"It is still under investigation, it is not yet known (losses) are still being calculated," said Imam as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 6.

Based on the information obtained, this case concerns the alleged oil palm do fraud. From the information, the victim suffered losses of up to billions of rupiah due to the fraud.

Dirreskrimum Jambi Police Kombes Manang Soebeti said the Batanghari DPRD member was arrested after repeatedly being absent from the investigator's summons.

Manang said the DPRD member was brought to the Jambi Regional Police with the status of a witness from the reported party.

"He has been summoned twice," he said.

Currently, the police have not detailed the amount of losses suffered by the alleged fraud victim.

The Jambi Regional Police continues to develop this case to uncover the involvement of other parties and collect the necessary evidence.
