Hasto's Pretrial Session Regarding The Status Of The PAW Bribery Suspect Postponed Until March 10

JAKARTA - The trial of the pretrial filed by the Secretary-General of the PDI-P (PDIP), Hasto Kristiyanto, regarding the determination of the suspect in the alleged bribery case for interim replacement (PAW), was decided to be postponed until next week.

The decision was due to a letter of application from the respondent or the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to postpone the trial of case number 23/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SE for two weeks.

The single judge who handled the case did not fully grant the respondent's request. This is because the trial will only be postponed until March 10, 2025.

"We are taking a stand on this request for postponement, we can only accept it for one week. We need to convey that before I ask for legal standing from the applicant now," said single judge Afrizal Hady during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, March 3.

Hasto Kristiyanto's camp initially disagreed with the decision. They asked the judge to postpone the trial for only 3 days.

However, the judge did not grant it and remains in his decision if the trial will be held again on March 10.

Of course, with a note, if at the upcoming trial the KPK is not present. So, the judicial process continues even though it is not attended by the respondent.

"The Respondent will be summoned for the next week and this is the last call, we will no longer give the opportunity. We will continue if the Respondent does not come with a second summons. Thus, we declare the trial to be postponed," said the judge.

It is known that the KPK developed a bribery case for interim replacement (PAW) that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.

Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
