DPR Asks Not To Speculate About The Missing Of KRI Nanggala-402

JAKARTA - Member of Commission I DPR (House of Representatives), Sukamta appealed to all parties to be patient waiting for official news from the TNI regarding the disappearance of the ship during KRI Nanggala-402 in Bali waters. This is to avoid the wild speculation that has developed in the community, especially about the crew.

"We'd better wait for official news from the TNI, sorry for the families of TNI members who were on the ship. Speculation should be avoided", said Sukamta, Thursday, April 22.

According to the PKS politician, the tragedy that befell KRI Nanggala-402 at 03.00 WITA, Wednesday, April 21, needs to be a joint evaluation of the main tool of the Indonesian weapon system (Alutsista).

"It is not intended to precede the investigation regarding the discovery of the submarine, but we at the Indonesian Parliament, especially Commission I, are very concerned about the renewal and rejuvenation of Indonesia's defense equipment", said Sukamta.

Apart from safeguarding Indonesia's sovereignty, he continued, another goal is to prevent accidents due to problematic defense equipment.

"It is too expensive for the lives of our TNI members. Moreover, the state is obliged to protect all of Indonesia's blood spills. Do not become victims of negligence in the rejuvenation of our defense equipment, during training", said the legislator for the DI Yogyakarta electoral district.

Sukamta said that the KRI Nanggala-402 submarine has been part of the main tool for Indonesia's defense system since 1981. This submarine is one of two old submarines made by the Howaldt Deutsche Werke (HDW) industry, Kiel, West Germany.

He invited the public to pray for the safety of the KRI Nanggala-402 crew who are now in the search phase.

"Let us pray to God Almighty and pray for the safety of the crew and the submarine KRI Nanggala-402. Nothing is impossible for God to work miracles to His servants. Especially at this time of Ramadan, the prayers of the faithful servants are heard by God Almighty", said Sukamta.
