JAKARTA - Indonesian Minister of Law (Menkum) Supratman Andi Agtas dismissed the intervention in judicial power by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto when collecting more than 150 judges throughout Indonesia and a number of ministers in the field of law at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday (20/2).

Supratman, who claimed to be present at the meeting, said that President Prabowo actually gave affirmation to the judges to always uphold justice in deciding cases.
"He (President Prabowo) only left a message to all judges, be it the Supreme Court Justice, as well as the Appeal Judge, or the first level, he asked to uphold justice, defend the weak. There was nothing else, because it was different rooms," he told ANTARA.
He said President Prabowo emphasized to judges to maintain integrity and independence for the sake of upholding law and justice.
"He (President Prabowo) wants the Supreme Court institution as a branch of power in our political trias, it can be independent in how to achieve justice which is indeed the hope of the community," he said.
