Hasto's Story About Jokowi Piling KPK Tarings

JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of the PDI-P, Hasto Kristiyanto, said that the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is the party that weakens or builds up the defenses of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The trick is to order to revise the anti-corruption agency law.

Hasto made this statement through Hasto Kristiyanto's YouTube account. It started when the PDIP Secretary General said that he had met with a former KPK investigator, Novel Baswedan, during an event that took place at Universita Indonesia, May 7, 2024.

At that time, Novel Baswedan had asked the truth about PDIP, which was the pioneer of changing the KPK Law with the intention of weakening the prosecution of corruption.

"I said firmly to Mas Novel Baswedan at that time, this is if there are bad things by President Jokowi, they are always delegated to the PDI-P and also Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri. But when there are positive things, President Jokowi always takes positive things without leaving benefits for the benefit of the PDI-P," said Hasto, quoted on Saturday, February 22.

Then Hasto explained why he conveyed this matter. According to him, PDIP under the leadership of Megawati Soekarnoputri has never tried to weaken the KPK. Instead, it became one of the parties that was keen to voice resistance to corruption.

Then, the Secretary General of the PDIP alluded to his meeting with Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace, precisely before Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Bobby Nasution were nominated as Mayors of Solo and Medan.

During the meeting, Hasto questioned Jokowi's seriousness in nominating his eldest son and son-in-law.

"Because when Mas Gibran and Mas Bobby as Mayor automatically become State Officials. And this will be very vulnerable to various forms of bribery gratuities and various other acts of corruption," he said.

Hasto said that Jokowi was pensive at that time. It is believed that the reason was because the questions that were quite disturbing were about Gibran and Bobby were vulnerable to being prosecuted by law enforcement officers (APH) if they became state officials.

"I mean asking President Jokowi is to remind him that he is the President. Why then his children must become mayors and it contains political risks considering that the President is also dealing with so many parties who always try to face the President," said Hasto.

Shortly after the meeting, Hasto said he met one of the ministers. It is said that Jokowi has given directions to revise the KPK Law. In fact, the minister briefly explained several articles that would be changed based on the direction of the president

"He told me that he had received directions from President Jokowi to revise the KPK Law," explained Hasto.

"At that time, various important articles were explained, for example, that the KPK leadership did not automatically act as investigators. Then there were several articles that did not allow independent investigators to join the KPK," he continued.

In fact, the minister who was in Jokowi's trust was said to have said that 3 million USD was needed to pass the revision of the KPK Law.

Hearing this, Hasto said that he advised the minister to meet all factions in the DPR RI to discuss further Jokowi's orders.

"And why is it running smoothly? Because President Jokowi has an interest in protecting Mas Gibran and Mas Bobby. So history records that the revision of the KPK Law was carried out before the Simultaneous Pilkada in which Mas Gibran and Mas Bobi were in the process of becoming mayors. So when elected as Mayor, it is safe from various legal issues because the KPK has been weakened," said Hasto.

Hasto emphasized that all of these stories can be legally and politically accounted for. However, without any evidence regarding Jokowi who has weakened the KPK

"So from my statement, which I am responsible legally, politically, which I am responsible for above the Almighty God about the truth of my statement even without evidence, the Indonesian people can know that the weakening of the KPK was carried out by President Jokowi and then the impact was blamed on the PDI-P," said Hasto.
