Sukatani Band Sorry For The Song 'Pay Police', Police Affirm Not Anti-criticism

The National Police emphasized that the law enforcement institution was not anti-criticism following an apology from the Sukatani band regarding the lyrics of their song entitled Pay Pay Pay which discussed the police.

"Commitment and consistency, the National Police continues to strive to become a modern organization, namely the National Police is not anti-criticism," said Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police's Divhumas Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Thursday, February 20.

He said the non-anticritic commitment had been confirmed by the National Police Chief, General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

"Mr. National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo often emphasized this to all ranks," he said.

The punk band from Purbalingga, Sukatani, apologized to the police via video on their social media accounts regarding their song entitled Pay Pay Pay Pay.

In the band's social media upload, two Sukatani band personnel, Muhammad Syifa Al Lufti alias Alectroguy and Novi Citra Indriyati alias Twister Angel, apologized to the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Polri for the lyrics of the song Pay Pay Pay Pay.

For information, one part of the lyrics to the song is 'to make a driver's license, pay the police, get lost on the road, pay the police'.

"We apologize profusely to the National Police Chief and the National Police for our song by the title Pay Pay, whose lyrics pay the police, which we have sung until it went viral. I actually created this song for police officers who violated the regulations," said Alectroguy.

Alectroguy as the band's guitarist said the song had now been removed from the streaming platform of Spotify's songs.

He also appealed to users of social media platforms to delete content that uses the song.

"With this, I appeal to all users of social media platforms who already have our song with the title Pay Pay Pay, pay police song lyrics, to delete and withdraw all videos using our songs because if there is a risk in the future, it is not our responsibility," he said.
