Cak Imin Proposes The Hajj Organizing Body To Be Ministry

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) as well as Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM), Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin proposed that the Hajj Organizing Body be increased to become a ministry.

He made this statement when giving a speech at a public discussion entitled 'Revision of the Law on Hajj and Umrah' in Jakarta.

According to him, the change is part of the long-proposed improvement, particularly the separation of the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Hajj.

"Every implementation I write down some improvements one of our proposals from the start is the separation of ministries of religion with this ministry of Hajj is one of the revolutions in its implementation," said Cak Imin, Wednesday, February 19.

The proposal was also said to have been followed up by President Prabowo Subianto by forming a Hajj Organizing Body. Although, it is said to be part of the revolution.

"Alhamdulillah Pak Prabowo has started even though he is still in half a revolution, namely there is a body that organizes Hajj but has not yet become a ministry," he said.

Therefore, Cak Imin hopes that with the Draft Law number 8 of 2019 concerning the implementation of Hajj and Umrah, it is hoped that the Hajj Organizing Body will be increased to become a ministry.

"We hope that the Hajj Law that we will form later, we propose that the ministries of the Hajj organization be changed to the ministries of Hajj and Umrah," said Cak Imin.

It is known that the Hajj Organizing Body (BP Hajj) was officially formed on November 5, 2025, which is part of the Ministry of Religion. Its formation was shortly after President Prabowo Subianto was sworn in on October 20, 2024.
