Sinjai KPU Commissioner Examined By Police In Case Of Alleged Car Embezzlement

"Both of them are still being asked for information regarding reports from residents of alleged car embezzlement," said Barombong Police Chief Iptu Chaidir, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 19.

The case was revealed after the victim, Herlina, reported the alleged embezzlement of her car, a yellow Honda Jazz, to the police after finding out that her vehicle had changed hands.

"Initially the victim wanted to redeem his car because it had been pawned to someone with the initials S. However, the car had instead changed hands to several people," said the police chief.

From the results of the investigation and development, the victim's car was found to be in Sinjai Regency and was found at AM's house, which is still the Commissioner of KPU Sinjai.

The investigative team then took the evidence at AM's house and asked for information regarding how to get the car until it was at his house.

"Currently we are still investigating and examining the testimony of witnesses because this case is still in the process of being investigated. We have not detained both of them and have been sent home," he explained.

So far, investigators are finalizing the examination and deepening of the statements of witnesses and victims, including evidence, before the case is carried out.

"There are nine witnesses who have been examined," said Chaidir.

The nine witnesses consisted of three Sinjai residents and six other people who were residents of Gowa and Takalar. Regarding the alleged involvement of the syndicate, the police have not been able to confirm.

"We are still not confirming whether this involves a syndicate because it is still under investigation and deepening. For evidence, a Honda Jazz has been secured," he added.
