Sold To Men With Nostrils, Underage Victims Of TIP At Jakut Apartments Recruited From West Java And Central Java

The Tanjung Priok Port Police revealed that the victims of the Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) committed by two women with the initials SM (56) and TR (29) in an apartment on Jalan Yos Sudarso.

"This victim was gathered in an apartment to be traded as a commercial sex worker," said Tanjung Priok Port Police Chief AKBP Martuasah Tobing, ANTARA, Tuesday, February 18.

He said that during the arrest of SM (56) and TR (29) perpetrators on Tuesday, February 4, there were 16 women who were victims, both adults and minors.

"The average female victims are from West Java and some are from Central Java," he said.

In addition, the way the perpetrator recruited potential victims was by utilizing children who were already in Jakarta to report friends in the village were invited to Jakarta.

"Initially he was employed as a food stall guard and then there was an option to offer whether he wanted to have more income and was offered to become a high-income sex worker," he said.

In addition, when providing sex services, customers pay IDR 2 million per transaction but the victim cannot take the money directly after carrying out the work.

He explained that the money was managed in one suspect's account and the victim could only take it at a certain moment.

"The perpetrator regulates the victim's income and expenses. So if this victim wants to buy something or there is a need, then ask the perpetrator for cash," he said.

In addition, the victims were also asked to save their money in the perpetrator's account and the fact that the victim never received a salary of Rp. 1.8 million per transaction they made.

The two perpetrators also did not prohibit the victim from leaving the apartment or returning to their homes but their money was withheld so that the victim would come back again.

"The victim was only given a principal of food money, soap money and a purchase of personal needs," he said.

He said the perpetrators also offered the services of victims through social media and there were also traditionally, namely from word of mouth to mouth.

The two perpetrators were charged with Article 2 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons. Then, Article 76 F Juncto Article 83 and or 76 Juncto 88 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection with a maximum imprisonment of 15 years.
