Banda Aceh Frees Clean Water Bills For Mosques During Ramadan

Banda Aceh Mayor Illiza Sa'aduddin Djamal said the city government would free clean water bills for mosques during Ramadan.

"This free clean water step aims to support the comfort of the city community to worship during the holy month of Ramadan," said Illiza in Banda Aceh, Antara, Friday, February 14.

The city government ensures that the clean water distribution system runs optimally for Banda Aceh residents. "Hopefully all mosques in Banda Aceh can carry out worship activities smoothly without worrying about the need for clean water during the fasting month," he said.

To ensure water needs for city residents, Illiza ensures that the Air Baku Treatment Plant (WTP) owned by Perumdam Tirta Daroy in Lubok Batee operates well.

In addition, the Karet Dam, which has been built by the Sumatra I River Basin Center (BWS), is expected to be used by Perumdam Tirta Daroy to meet the needs of clean water in Banda Aceh City.

"Perumdam Tirta Daroy needs sufficient raw water supply, and this Karet Dam, we hope to increase the distribution of water to the city community," he said.

Furthermore, Illiza conveyed a plan to revive the Basajang cooperation program (Banda Aceh, Sabang, Jantho) in order to improve the quality of clean water services in the area.

"With the Karet Dam, raw water can be used for Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar. Because it has Basajan cooperation, so that the management of raw water and clean water distribution can be more optimal," he said.
