BLITAR - The Blitar Resort Police, East Java, arrested a number of fighters suspected of originating from a silat college in the district for disturbing public order.
Blitar Police Chief AKBP Arif Fazlurrahman revealed that there were around 100 people using two-wheeled vehicles carrying out convoys from Kendalrejo Village, Talun District, Blitar Regency.
"When the convoy group was east of the Blitar Police Headquarters, the group carried out a blender-bleyer action and screamed," said Arif in Blitar, Antara, Friday, February 14.
Then, his party tried to disperse and bring order to the group because it interfered with traffic flow. However, when the officers gave directions, there were provocateurs which resulted in the masses running away.
He added that along with the incident, several individuals were brought by officers and two-wheeled vehicles. They were taken to the Blitar Police Headquarters for personal data.
He said there were about 45 youths who were taken to the Blitar Police Headquarters and there were 43 motorcycles.
They were secured on Thursday (13/2) and staying at the Blitar Police Headquarters. Officers asked them to make a statement and contact their parents.
"For two-wheeled vehicles that are not in accordance with the specifications and are not equipped with a letter, the Blitar Police Traffic Unit takes a ticket," he said.
He also added that currently a number of parents of those brought to the Blitar Police Headquarters have also begun to arrive.
He also hopes that this will not happen again, because the Blitar Police and the Blitar Regency Forkopimda as well as silat colleges throughout Blitar Raya have made a peace declaration.
