JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipikor) of the National Police has begun to investigate allegations of corruption behind the installation of a sea fence in the waters of Tangerang Regency.
The Head of Corruption Crime, Inspector General Cahyono Wibowo, said that the emergence of indications of alleged corruption in the matter began with the investigation into the case of forgery of land certificates investigated by the Directorate of General Crimes (Ditipidum) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.
"We received a letter from Pidum explaining that there are indications of corruption. Then we invited Pidum yesterday and discussed it," said Cahyono to reporters, Thursday, February 13.
From that coordination, it was found that there were indications of alleged corruption. However, Cahyono stated that Kortas Corruption would investigate the allegation.
The goal is to collect various clues and information needed in handling the alleged corruption of the sea fence.
"There is indeed that fact but we also need to explore it. And now our process is still being studied," he said.
If strong evidence and clues have been found, then a case will be held. So, it can be determined whether or not it goes up to the investigation stage.
"It is also possible later if the facts exist for us to move on to the investigation first," said Cahyono.
In the process of searching for clues and evidence, a number of parties will be questioned, including the village head (Kades) of Kohod, Arsin.
"Obviously it must be checked," said Cahyono.

Previously it was reported, the Dittipidum Bareskrim Polri said the village head and the village secretary (Sekdes) Kohod admitted that they had used the goods confiscated by investigators to falsify a letter requesting land recognition rights related to the sea fence in Tangerang waters.
Goods such as printers and village secretariat stamps were confiscated during a search conducted at the village office and the house of the Kohod village head.
"And we have obtained this from the information of the village head and the village secretary also admitted that the tools were used," said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro.
The equipment was also used to fake girik and other documents. In fact, it was found that the hard remnants were used to make land warfare.
"We got three sheets of village head decisions. Then we also got a recapitulation of the second Kohod transaction fund application and several accounts that we got," he said.
Even though he has admitted, the status of the Village Head and Village Secretary is still a witness. The reason is that recognition is not the main thing in the investigation process. There must be supporting evidence to prove all the arguments that have been submitted.
"We have the principle of proof. Fulfill the evidence. The evidence is related or not. This is what we will carry out later," he said.
The plan is that all evidence that has been confiscated by investigators will be reviewed. Then, a case will be held to determine the suspect.
