Hasto's Pretrial Trial, Attorney: KPK Has No New Evidence

PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto's camp assessed that most of the evidence submitted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was old evidence. Only the testimony of former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan is considered new evidence.

"The evidence presented is also old evidence that nothing new has been presented," Hasto Kristiyanto's attorney, Ronny Talapessy, told reporters at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, February 10.

So far, only the testimony of Wahyu Setiawan is considered as new evidence from the KPK. However, Hasto's camp still doubts the information.

There are several reasons, one of which is because everything that Wahyu Setiawan said is not or does not hear directly but from the narrative of other people.

"What is new is information from revelation, but we doubt the information from revelation because we are not witnesses to see firsthand. Those who hear directly but pass through others," he said.

Not only that, Ronny also mentioned the facts about the investigation from the KPK which stated that Hasto had ordered to submerge Harun Masiku's cellphone.

He said that this matter was not an order from his client, it was still someone else. In fact, it has been proven in court.

"It is already in the justice decision but we are testing again to be clear," said Ronny.

Hasto is known to have been named a suspect in the alleged case of interim replacement bribery (PAW) which also ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku.

Not only Hasto, but the KPK has also named Donny Tri Istiqomah, who is a PDIP cadre and a lawyer as a suspect.

In fact, in its development, the KPK has also named Hasto as a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. The PDIP Secretary General is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.

After becoming a suspect, Hasto's camp filed a pretrial lawsuit. This case is registered with case number 5/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL.
