Availability Of Early Year Pupuk Stock Is Very Important

JAKARTA - Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) Rachmat Pambudy emphasized that the availability of fertilizer stocks at the beginning of the year is very important to maintain productivity.

"Strong coordination between parties needs to be carried out to support the needs of farmers and face the challenges of land conditions," he said when meeting with the Marketing Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia (PI) Tri Wahyudi, quoted from an official statement, Jakarta, Sunday, February 9.

At this strategic meeting, several issues discussed included PI's contribution in supporting national food security, energy transition, and digital transformation.

As a holding company for State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), he continued, PI plays a vital role in supporting national development policies, including the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) and the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

"Through innovation, digitization, and commitment to a sustainable economy, we hope that PI can contribute to increasing agricultural productivity with comprehensive assistance to farmers, from on-farm to off-farm, access to capital, protection of agricultural risk, and marketing of crops," said the Head of Bappenas.

Currently, PI is said to manage 10 subsidiaries in the fertilizer and pesticide sector, 9 in the chemical industry, 8 in the supporting sector, and 4 in trade and logistics.

In supporting the energy transition, PI is also stated to have compiled a decarbonization roadmap that includes energy efficiency, construction of a carbon dioxide (CO2) derivative plant, and the development of green energy, including green ammonia.

"PI and the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas hope to formulate concrete steps towards a sustainable economy, in line with the vision of national development," said Rachmat.

With this strategic step, his party together with PI are committed to continuing to strengthen synergies to support food security, energy transition, and digital transformation, as well as synergizing with the government to realize sustainable development.

"We need to continue to collaborate further through cross-sectoral coordination to ensure that the implementation of various SOE programs can support national priorities," said the Minister of VAT.
