Ministry Of Tourism: Budget Efficiency Strengthens Government Collaboration With Business Actors

JAKARTA - The implementation of budget efficiency policies encourages the Ministry of Tourism to strengthen collaboration with other government ministries and institutions as well as business actors and the tourism industry.

"This is not only with ministries/agencies, but with strategic partners, including industry, the business world, even the Minister of Tourism has conveyed it with NGOs and others," said Deputy for Destination Development and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Tourism Hariyanto after Monthly Brief 2025 in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 8.

He said that budget efficiency must be implemented in all government ministries and institutions, including the Ministry of Tourism.

The budget allocation ceiling for the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in 2025 is around IDR 1.7 trillion.

The budget allocation is divided into two ministries. The Ministry of Tourism gets a share of around Rp1.4 trillion and the Ministry of Creative Economy gets a share of around Rp279 billion.

Hariyanto stated that the implementation of budget efficiency within the Ministry of Tourism was sought not to interfere with the implementation of programs, including Indonesia's tourism promotion program.

"So practically, we focus on our main functions in regulations and facilitation," he said.

The Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, said that tourism promotions must be carried out jointly with other government ministries and institutions.

He gave an example, the Ministry of Tourism will coordinate with the relevant ministries to seek more affordable ticket prices for transportation services ahead of the holiday.

"So, there are many things we can do, while we don't have to wait for a problem," he said.

According to the Letter of the Minister of Finance Number S-37/MK.02/2025 concerning the Efficiency of Ministry/Institutional Expenditures in the Implementation of the 2025 State Budget, the government is targeting budget savings of up to IDR 306 trillion.

Government budget efficiency efforts include restrictions on spending for ceremonial activities, publications, seminars, and focused group discussions.
