Bali DPRD Godok Perda Blasphemy Religion In The Aftermath Of Dewa Siwa's Bisuals At Night Clubs

The Bali Regional House of Representatives has confirmed that it will discuss regional regulations regarding the prohibition of blasphemy, following public demands against the Atlas nightclub that used Dewa Siwa's visuals as the background for thedic jockey performance.

Deputy Chairman of the Bali DPRD I Wayan Disel Astawa after meeting hundreds of mass actions from the Kesatria Keris Bali Foundation in Denpasar, said that currently Bali only has governor regulations so it is not too binding.

He said the Bali Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 25 of 2020 only stipulated that religious blasphemy perpetrators were asked to pay fines and carry out a ceremony to clean up the Piduka Teacher.

According to him, with the incident of the Atlas nightclub using the symbol of Dewa Siwa at night entertainment venues, as well as previously the FINNS beach club that lit massive fireworks on the beach where Hindu ceremonies were located, to the coercion of non-Hindu people who were active on the road during Nyepi, higher regulations needed to be processed immediately.

"Yes, we have to do this immediately, because if it is limited to the governor's regulation learning from Nyepi's experience at the Source of Klampok, yesterday's FINNS incident, of course, the governor's regulation must be increased to regional regulations, so there are sanctions," said South, Friday, February 7.

"This is for entrepreneurs who want to invest, because Bali is cultural tourism, cultural and religious principles must be heeded, we are waiting for the governor to be inaugurated," he continued.

Reported by ANTARA, when receiving public complaints, one of the points offered to the Bali DPRD is the formation of a regional regulation, as well as the certainty of revocation of business licenses if a similar incident occurs one day.

Disel said the step toodize this regional regulation was the answer to realizing the points of society's demands, as well as encouraging Balinese people who had cared about the symbols of religion that were tainted.

He hopes that with the establishment of a regional regulation that regulates the scope of religion and regulates the imposition of prosecution sanctions for religious harassment, it is hoped that there will be no more blasphemy of Hinduism or other religions in Bali.
