Paulus Tannos Turns Out To Have Been Examined By The KPK As A Witness In Singapore

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that it had examined the President Director (Director) of PT Sandipala Arthapura, Paulus Tannos in Singapore. He was questioned in 2024.

"The KPK has examined the person concerned as a witness in 2024," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, February 4.

Despite his status as a suspect, investigators at that time asked Paulus for testimony as a witness. Tessa reasoned that the move was taken because there were still conditions that had not been met.

"The request is that (the examination as a witness, ed) and for the suspect, other requirements must be met at that time," he said.

"What fulfills it immediately is the examination as a witness and that has been done," continued the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Ditegaskan, KPK juga tidak bisa saja menabrak juridiksi Singapura dengan menangkap Paulus secara tiba-tiba. "Dan tidak lama setelah (pemeriksaan, red) itu kami mengajukan provosional arrest melalui Divisi Hubinter Polri," ujar Tessa.

Previously reported, Paulus Tannos, who is the President Director of PT Sandipala Arthapura, was finally arrested by Singaporean authorities after being on the wanted list since 2021. He was named a suspect in the corruption case in the procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in 2019.

At that time he was named by the KPK as a suspect along with three other people, namely Isnu Edhi Wijaya as the former President Director of the Indonesian State Printing Corporation (PNRI); 2014-2019 DPR RI member Miryam S Haryani; and former Head of the Information Technology Technical Team for the Application of e-KTP Husni Fahmi.
