Minister Of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian: The Ministry Of Home Affairs' Budget For 2025 Is Efficiency Of Up To 50 Percent

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian said that the Ministry of Home Affairs budget ceiling in 2025 will be efficient up to 50 percent, responding to the issuance of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025 concerning Expenditure Efficiency in the Implementation of the State Budget and Regional Budget for Fiscal Year 2025.

He detailed that initially the Ministry of Home Affairs budget ceiling in 2025 was IDR 4,792,328,518,000, then efficiency was carried out to IDR 2,038,635,518,000.

"From the total originally the budget ceiling that had been submitted was Rp. 4.7 trillion or the efficiency was approximately 57.46 percent, so the remaining Rp2 trillion Ministry of Home Affairs ceiling or 42.54 percent," Tito said in a working meeting with Commission II of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Antara, Monday, February 3.

Responding to the Presidential Instruction (Inpres) dated January 22, 2025, he then said that his party had simulated 16 items in the Ministry of Home Affairs budget for efficiency.

"So that we can enter the Rp2.038 trillion ceiling, we make an exercise with guidelines for efficiency in these 16 items," he said.

He then detailed the efficiency of 16 items at the Ministry of Home Affairs including: office stationery (90 percent); ceremonial activities (56.9 percent); meetings, seminars and the like (45 percent); study and analysis (51.5 percent); training and technical guidance (29 percent); honorarium output for professional activities and services (40 percent); printing and souvenirs (75.9 percent); building rental, vehicles, equipment (73.3 percent).

In addition, application licenses (21.6 percent); consulting services (45.7 percent); government assistance (16.7 percent); maintenance and maintenance (10.2 percent); official travel (53.9 percent); equipment and machinery (28 percent); infrastructure (34.3 percent); other spending (59.1 percent).

Meanwhile, Tito explained that the 2025 National Border Management Agency (BNPP) budget ceiling was initially IDR 267,135,531,000, then efficiency was carried out to IDR 150,800,000,000.

"The efficiency is Rp150 billion or efficiency is 56.45 percent. This is what BNPP uses because it is set at Rp150 billion and this is also being expanded by BNPP in more detail," said Tito, who holds the position as Head of BNPP.

He said that until now his party would continue to make adjustments and comb through every component of the Ministry of Home Affairs and BNPP budget posts in 2025 for efficiency.

"As many things as possible that can be streamlined, efficiency is of course a benchmark for 16 items to be guided from the Ministry of Finance," he said.

Although efficiency is carried out in a number of priority programs, he emphasized that the efficiency carried out in principle will still optimize the targets to be achieved by the Ministry of Home Affairs and BNPP.

"The principle of basic, basic, basic things is for the running of the Ministry of Home Affairs' program as the supervisor and supervisor of the Regional Government as well as for the implementation of IPDN education, as well as trainings that operate Dukcapil. can still run. That is the main principle," he said.

He then continued, "Then for BNPP specifically for basic matters such as personnel spending, then handling the operationalization of cross-border posts, which are located in 15 cross-border posts, they must still run operations."
