Previously, the Bali Police investigated a robbery case allegedly carried out by a group of foreigners against a man from Ukraine with the initials II.

In a video footage, it can be seen that II and his driver were victims of kidnapping and extortion of crypto assets worth around IDR 3.4 billion.

This incident occurred on December 15, 2024, in the area of Jalan Tundun Turtle Dipal, Ungasan Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali. At that time, the victim and the driver with the initials A were driving a white BMW car when suddenly they were blocked by two cars.

One car, namely the Toyota Alphard, blocked the road from the front, while the other car was blocking from behind.

Four people dressed all black, wearing masks, and carrying weapons in the form of knives, hammers, and pistols, then getting out of the car. They immediately handcuffed the victim and the driver, covered their heads with black cloth, then forced both of them into one of the cars.

The victim and driver were then taken to a villa in the South Kuta area, Badung Regency. At that location, the perpetrators took the victim's cellphone and beat the victim so that the victim would transfer crypto assets to two accounts that allegedly belonged to the perpetrator.

"The perpetrators continued to beat the victim and forced him to give access to Binance's account so that his crypto assets could be taken by force," said Ariasandy.

As a result of this incident, the victim suffered injuries to his right ear, right and left wrists, left hands, left eyes, back head, and right waist. In addition to physical injuries, the victim also suffered material losses of Rp. 3,496,790,194.

The Bali Police continue to investigate and hunt down other perpetrators who are still at large.
