The Ministry Of Manpower And The Ministry Of Transportation Are Ready To Succeed The 2025 Eid Homecoming

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Manpower is ready to collaborate with the Ministry of Transportation in the success of the Lebaran homecoming in 2025 so that people get free homecoming benefits and do not cause traffic jams on the road.

The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli during a meeting with the Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi at the Ministry of Manpower Jakarta office, Friday, January 24, explained that his party always strives to bring free homecoming to workers/laborers ahead of Eid Al-Fitr by coordinating a number of companies and other parties such as BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to organize free homecoming.

"Free homecoming is also our obligation because this is the mandate of Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower, where free homecoming is part of a form of welfare facilities for workers/laborers and their families," said the Minister of Manpower in a statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, January 25.

In 2024, he continued, the Ministry of Manpower has successfully coordinated a number of parties so that they can hold free homecoming for 5,400 workers/laborers and their families.

In addition to free homecoming, during the Christmas and New Year 2024 holidays, the Ministry of Manpower is also trying to provide free vehicle services for travelers who are held at BBPVP Bandung. In the future, it is hoped that the same thing can be carried out again in areas where there is a Central Technical Implementation Unit (UPTP) of the Ministry of Manpower, so that it can help ensure the vehicles of the travelers are in prime condition.

In addition to the implementation of free homecoming, this meeting also discussed a number of policies involving the two ministries, including Religious Holiday Allowances (THR) for workers on application-based services.

"Regarding protection for workers on this application-based service, it is part of President Prabowo's Astacita. Therefore, in the future we will sit together with Komdigi and the Ministry of Transportation to discuss this," he explained.

The Minister of Manpower also welcomed the Ministry of Transportation's proposal regarding Work from Anywhere (WFA). However, this issue will be discussed first at the National Tripartite LKS forum.

Meanwhile, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi said that currently his party is coordinating and communicating with cross-ministerial ministries and other parties regarding the implementation of homecoming.

According to him, the implementation of coordinated and organized free homecoming is important so that the implementation of free homecoming can run smoothly and safely.

"For free homecoming will be carried out in an integrated manner, if each of them is done as if it is not coordinated it can even cause unnecessary traffic jams," he explained.

In addition, coordination and communication are carried out so that good collaboration is formed in the implementation of free homecoming, taking into account that the number of people who will go home during the Eid al-Fitr 2025 holiday period is predicted to increase.
