JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR BPN) has so far synergized in certifying 23,721 fields of mosque/musala land whose processes are free of charge.

Director of Islamic Religious Affairs and Sharia Development of the Ministry of Religion Arsad Hidayat said this certificate provides legal certainty over land ownership so that potential conflicts and land disputes can be avoided.

"This program is very helpful and makes it easier for mosque/musala managers. For the initial stage, we have submitted 23,721 data with details of 14,073 mosques and 9,648 prayer rooms, to then verify and certify the land by the ATR/BPN ranks in the regions," said Arsad in his statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, January 25.

Arsad appreciated ATR/BPN for providing PTSL allocation (Complete Systematic Land Registration) specifically for mosque land and prayer room 2025.

The Ministry of Religion seeks to meet the data needs of mosques/musalas and pursue the quota target provided based on mosque/musalla data contained in the Ministry of Religion's Mosque Information System (SIMAS).

Meanwhile, Director of Land Regulation of ATR/BPN Ana Anida stated that his party was willing to assist the Ministry of Religion in certifying houses of worship.

"We set a quota target of 70,000 per year for certification of places of worship. We will do it gradually based on complete data," he said.

Waqf land certification is one of the Ministry of Religion's Islamic Community Guidance programs. This program facilitates waqf land that has not been certified to obtain certificates from the National Land Agency (BPN).

The PTSL program has become a solution for accelerating certification. As of September 2024, 255,989 waqf land parcels have received certificates.

The initial separation of 23,721 mosque/mushalla lands in 2025 will further accelerate this. KUA as the Official of the Ikrar Waqf Deed Making (PPAIW) encourages the certification of the Waqf Ikrar Deed (AIW) for mosque/musala land in its area.

Takmir together with BKM helped prepare various requirements and the ATR/BPR Team or Land Office (Kantah) made measurements to issue land certificates.
