Arriving In New Delhi, Prabowo Attends The 76th Day Celebration Of The Republic Of India

JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto arrived in New Delhi, India, Thursday evening local time, to attend the celebration of the 76th Day of the Republic of India as well as hold a bilateral meeting accompanied by a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet.

Based on an official statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat received in the early hours of Friday, January 24, President Prabowo and a limited group arrived at the Air Force Station (AFS) Palam, New Delhi, on Thursday evening at 22.30 local time.

Under the plane's stairs, President Prabowo was warmly welcomed by the Minister of State for Indian Foreign Affairs Pabitra Margherita, Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Sandeep Chakravorty, Indonesian Ambassador to New Delhi Ina Krisnamurthi, and the Defense Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi First Admiral Ardiansyah Muqsit. The warmth of the welcome was also enlivened by the traditional Indian dance performed by local young artists.

Arriving at the hotel where he was staying, President Prabowo was greeted by a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, including Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid, Special Envoy to President Hashim Djojohadikusumo, and Deputy Governor of the Military Academy Brigadier General Kristomei Sianturi.

President Prabowo's visit to India coincided with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and India. As a "chief guest" in the celebration of the 76th Day of the Republic of India, Prabowo called this invitation a symbol of great honor for Indonesia.

"In this celebration of the 76th Republic Day, they also invited TNI troops to participate in the defile. We have the honor of being at the forefront as an honorary contingent. There are 352 TNI soldiers and military academy cadets present," said the President before his departure from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta.

In addition to attending the celebration of Republican Day, President Prabowo is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting will discuss strategic issues, including strengthening cooperation in various sectors between the two countries.

This visit is expected to strengthen diplomatic relations and open up new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation for Indonesia and India.
