Hide The Child Of The Suspect Of Obscenity, Fugitives Of The Gowa Kejari Arrested In Jeneponto

JAKARTA - The Gowa District Attorney's Intelligence (Kejari) has arrested a fugitive who has the status of a convict Nurlela Daeng Caya.

Nurlela was involved in helping hide her son, RA, who is a fugitive and a suspect in sexual abuse and sexual intercourse of minors until she became pregnant.

"This convict was involved in the case of participating in taking away the victim of a underage girl with her child (RA) on charges of criminal acts Article 332 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code," said Head of the General Crime Section (Kasi Pidum) of the Gowa Kejari, Sitti Nurdaliah to reporters in Gowa, South Sulawesi, Saturday, January 18, confiscated by Antara.

The Gowa Kejari arrested the convict Nurlela in Kalimporo Village, Bangkala District, Jeneponto Regency, after receiving information about the location in question. Furthermore, the convict was taken to the Makassar Penitentiary to serve the rest of his detention period.

Based on the court's decision which has obtained permanent legal force in accordance with the Sungguminasa District Court decision number: 339/Pid.sus/2022 PT MKS dated August 11, 2022, the convict was sentenced to one year in prison.

Nurlela was declared fugitive after being absent three times and ignoring the prosecutor's summons, making it difficult for the Public Prosecutor to carry out the execution of detention for fleeing to Jeneponto.

"So this convict still has approximately four months left to serve. The convict is deemed not to have complied with the prosecutor's summons to be executed after the court's decision," he said.

Separately, the legal adviser for the victim SM (16), M Syafril Hamzah revealed that this case occurred in August 2020.

The perpetrator at that time picked up the victim at his school and then took him away to Selayar Islands Regency with the support of Nurlela's mother (the convict), it was known that the victim was pregnant at that time.

Because the victim never came home, the family reported the matter to the police.

From the information received, the two only stayed three months in Selayar. Furthermore, moved to Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province and settled there, until the victim gave birth to her child.

The handling of this case has been adrift since it was reported in mid-August 2020 at the Gowa Police Station. Because the handling of the case stalled, the family continued to urge the police to immediately arrest the perpetrator and bring the victim back to Gowa Regency.

Based on the instructions and information from the victim's family, the Gowa Police Anti-Bandit Team assisted by the Sikka Police Sweeparata Team, NTT finally arrested the perpetrator RA and the SM victim on October 21, 2021, then brought it to the Gowa Police Headquarters.

In the process of his investigation, the perpetrator RA was named a suspect and was detained at the local police station. However, ironically on September 29, 2021, the perpetrator managed to escape from the police station and until early 2025 the police have not been able to arrest the suspect.

"Until today, we cannot provide clarity on the development of the case, where the whereabouts and results of the pursuit of the Gowa Police. This case has been four years but there is no clarity. We hope that the Kapolda will pay attention to the Gowa Police so that our clients will receive legal certainty," he said.

In addition, his party urged the police to provide information on the development of the case, considering that during the 2020 investigation process until the perpetrator was named a suspect and fled, no significant developments were conveyed by Gowa Police investigators.

"So far we have never received a clear explanation from them (Gowa Police). But information from the public in Jeneponto Regency, the perpetrator is suspected to be still roaming around the Bangkala District, Jeneponto. We ask the police to pay attention and arrest the perpetrators again," said Syafril.
