JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, revealed plans to utilize some of the land belonging to corruptors that have been confiscated by the state to support the development program of 3 million people's houses.

This was conveyed by Maruarar during a working visit to monitor public services at the Tangerang City Government Center, Tuesday, January 14. "Agree if that is done? Agree?" Maruarar asked reporters at the location.

In addition to corrupt land, Maruarar said that state-owned land assets such as PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), Perumnas, and BTPN will also be used for the people's housing program.

Maruarar admitted that he had had a direct discussion with SOE Minister Erick Thohir regarding the use of state-owned land. In addition, coordination was also carried out with the Ministry of Finance, the Directorate General of State Assets, and the Attorney General's Office regarding the use of ex-BLBI assets and land confiscated by corruptors.

"From BUMN I have spoken with Mr. Erick, including Perumnas, KAI, and BTPN. We have also coordinated with the Attorney General's Office and the Directorate General of State Assets regarding land assets that can be used for the construction of people's houses," explained Maruarar.

To realize this program, the Ministry of PKP has compiled a financing scheme with a funding pattern of 50:50, involving the State Budget and banks.

"We have conveyed to the Ministry of Finance, President, and BPKP regarding this financing formulation. The goal is that the beneficiaries of this program can be more," he said.

Maruarar also added that if this plan was successfully implemented, the subsidized housing program in the Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka governments would be the highest in history.

"Pray for this year to be the first year we provide the highest subsidies for houses for people in need," he concluded.
