MUKOMUKO - Six elementary and junior high school levels in an area suspected of being a tiger crossing in Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province proposed learning through online media to maintain the safety of children from these wild animals.

"There are suggestions for online learning from six schools because there is a fear that the school will be in the tiger crossing area," said Head of the Elementary School Education Division of the Mukomuko Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) Ramon Hoski in Mukomuko, Antara, Tuesday, January 14.

A total of six schools that proposed online learning were SMPN 08 Mukomuko, SMPN 30 Mukomuko, SMPN 41 Mukomuko, SMPN 25 Mukomuko, SDN 09 Selagan Raya, SDN 04 Air Dikit, and SDN 06 Teras Terunjam.

The Education and Culture Office of Mukomuko Regency previously implemented learning through online media to limit children's activities outside the home after the death of a resident of Tunggal Jaya Village who was allegedly eaten by a tiger.

A resident of Tunggal Jaya Village, Teras Terunjam District, named Ibnu Oktavianto (22) was found dead in an oil palm plantation on Tuesday (7/1).

Then, one cow belonging to Deden Nurjamil, a resident of Mekar Jaya Village, Teras Terunjam District, which borders Tunggal Jaya Village, was also found dead as a result of being eaten by a tiger.

Regarding the proposed online learning from these six schools, he said, as applied in three schools in the Teras Terunjam District, it is allowed if the tiger location is observed near the school.

"If school demand does not allow face-to-face learning, then it can be online but they continue to coordinate per day because conditions like this are dynamic," he said.

"In addition, he said, schools coordinate every day with the village head because they understand the area better and the village head must coordinate with the BKSDA," he also said.

Then, he said, his party routinely monitors and evaluates it per day when it is safe for children to study as usual.

For three schools in the Teras Terunjam District from previously studying online, now face-to-face, he advised parents to take their children to school.
