JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto asked officials in the Red and White Cabinet (KMP) to strengthen the supply chain for local commodity production as raw material for the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program, especially eggs, so as to provide benefits not only for recipients, but also other levels of society.
The statement was made by the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy who was given the task of supporting planning to strengthen the supply chain for the production of local food raw materials so that they could be used to meet MBG.
"Mr. President also said that there are things that need to be considered, especially the supply chain of production. So not only the supply chain of consumption, but the supply chain of production. And he mentioned how important the role of eggs is as the main source of nutritious food," said Rachmat Pambudy after attending a limited meeting to discuss evaluation and acceleration, at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Friday, January 17, reported by ANTARA.
According to Rachmat, one of the President's directives to fulfill the egg supply chain is to ask Bappenas to create a concept in building more chicken farms in each MBG location if needed.
The strengthening of supply chains was also discussed by the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana who stated President Prabowo's desire to empower local resources and local supply chains in the success of the MBG priority program.
In addition to Bappenas, Dadan mentioned the ministries that were asked to support strengthening the production supply chain, including the Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (PDT) and the Ministry of Cooperatives.
"Imagine when the 82.9 million has been fed. And the Nutrition Agency stipulates that on a certain day we eat eggs, 82.9 million eggs are needed every day. So this also needs to increase production so that the supply chain can fulfill everything," said Dadan.
As one of the other parties who was asked to succeed in strengthening the supply chain for local commodity production for MBG, PDT Village Minister Yandri Susanto said he plans to maximize Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) so that this can be fulfilled.

He is optimistic that villages in Indonesia, especially those that produce commodities, can provide optimal results to meet the supply chain for raw materials for MBG.
"In terms of preparing raw materials, we will maximize Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). So later there will be villages (producing) rice, villages (producing) corn, villages (producing) tilapia and so on. So the main point is, the Ministry of Villages is ready to make nutritious lunch a success," said Yandri.
