The North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Sumut) officially detained five suspects in the alleged bribery case for the selection of Government Employees with the Langkat Regency Work Agreement (PPPK) for the 2023 fiscal year.

Detention is carried out for a period of 20 days, starting from Monday, January 13 to February 1, 2025.

The suspect RN was detained at the Medan Class I Women's Detention Center, while four other suspects were detained at the Class I Rutan Tanjung Gusta Medan.

The detention was carried out after the Public Prosecutor (JPU) for Special Crimes (Pidsus) of the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office received the delegation of phase II in the form of evidence and suspects from the North Sumatra Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) investigators.

"The five suspects are suspected of being involved in a criminal act of corruption in the form of extortion or receiving gifts or promises related to the selection of PPPK procurement for teacher functional positions in the Langkat Regency Government for the 2023 fiscal year," explained Adre.

The North Sumatra Public Prosecutor's Team Pidsus Prosecutor's Office is currently preparing the indictment file to be immediately transferred to the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Medan District Court.

The suspects were charged with Article 12 letter e in conjunction with Article 11 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as well as Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

The Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol Hadi Wahyudi, confirmed the delegation of the five suspects to the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office.
