JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI) strongly condemns the violence committed by the patient's family at Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital, Palembang against a nurse named Christina Ramauli Simatupang. They will guard this case and ask that the perpetrator be severely punished for his actions.

"PPNI carries out guardianship and assistance of nurses in this case so that it is in accordance with the legal corridors and the perpetrators are punished as severely as possible, in accordance with the applicable law and encourages Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital to provide assistance and escort to nurses who are its employees," said PPNI Chairman, Harif. Fadhillah in a written statement quoted on Saturday, April 17.

"The General Chairperson of the PPNI DPP on behalf of all Indonesian nurses condemned the perpetrators of violence and ordered the PPNI DPW of South Sumatra, the DPD PPNI of Palembang City, the DPK PPNI of Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital, the Legal and Political Empowerment Division of the PPNI DPP, and the PPPNI Legal Aid Agency (BBH). to take legal steps against perpetrators of violence together with Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital Palembang, "he added.

Furthermore, Harif said that violence against nurses was not the first time this had happened. Thus, PPNI urges the guarantee of a conducive work environment for nurses in carrying out their duties towards the government and leaders of health facilities.

So that in the future, nurses will no longer experience physical or psychological violence while carrying out their duties in health facilities. "Violence against nurses who are carrying out their professional duties is a threat to security in the workplace and health care systems. This violence is also heavily criticized by the nursing community around the world," he said.

Previously reported, the video of the patient's family abuse of nurses at Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital, Palembang, South Sumatra, went viral on social media. The man in the hat and red shirt grabbed the female nurse.

This abuse took place at Siloam Hospital Palembang on Thursday, April 15th. At that time, the female nurse was persecuted by the patient's family man. There are other nurses separating, but the man in the red shirt and the white hat is still targeting the female nurse.

This man was also pointing at the other nurses. Even when a man tries to calm him down, the man in the hat points back.

"Lu cop? If your child .... like this," said the man shouted.

Victim of persecution Kristina Ramauli reported this case to the Palembang Police. Now the police are investigating a case of mistreatment of nurses at Siloam Hospital Palembang which went viral on social media.

The police are known to have arrested a man with the initials JS who abused a nurse at Siloam Hospital in Palembang. JS was arrested in the Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) area, South Sumatra.

The perpetrator is known to be named Jason Tjakrawinata aka JT who apologized for the incident. He admitted that he was emotional because he was tired and had been looking after his child for four days. He confessed his actions and confessed regret.
